The Agriturismo Casa Rosa is an ancient farmhouse dating back to the last century, completely restored and renovated in 2011 according to modern standards of environmental sustainability. The name of the property, Casa Rosa, originates from the external colour of the house (“rosa” means pink) which was acquired by the Angelini family in the 1930s.
Set in a panoramic location overlooking the Piceno hills, Agriturismo Casa Rosa is a working organic farm, recently renovated, producing wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables. The medieval town of Offida in 2 Km away.
Rooms and apartments at the family-run Agriturismo Casa Rosa all come equipped with a flat-screen TV, fridge, air conditioning and private bathroom. Apartments also feature a kitchen and seating area.
Homemade cakes, jams, juices and hot drinks feature daily in the buffet breakfast. Guest can also buy organic olive oil, tomatoes, aubergines, potatoes and other vegetables on site.
The property is well placed for walking and cycling activities, and guest can help with the grape and olive harvest in the autumn. San Benedetto del Tronto, the Adriatic Coast and Ascoli Piceno are 20 km away.
The idea of turning the Casa Rosa into a place of relaxation was born a few years ago by Pompilio’s desire to spend his retirement in this oasis of tranquility.
The surrounding land belongs to the farm, including a wood, quiet and secluded, that offers the possibility to walk in the pristine green, with spectacular views of the sea and mountain horizons. If you are lucky, you can see squirrels, porcupines, badgers and many species of birds. Despite the quiet and privacy enjoyed by the farm, “unfortunately” the phone still rings.
The Farm
The family-owned farm of the Casa Rosa extends to 14.5 hectares of land, of which 1 hectare of oak wood, 2 acres of vineyards (Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cabernet, etc.), 0.5 hectares of olive trees , 0.5 acres of mixed orchard and 0.5 acres of seasonal fruit and vegetables. The remainder is used for the production of cereals, meadow and pasture for animals bred on the farm such as chickens, rabbits, sheep, lambs, pig, used to meet the needs of our extended family.
From pigs, bred using traditional methods, and from their slaughter, we get the typical products such as ham, pork loin, sausages and salami, always appreciated by our guests.
Every year, Assunta makes a good selection of jams from all the fruits grown on the orchard; she boils the fruit for several hours to ensure that our guests experience our authentic breakfast. For breakfast, Assunta also bakes delicacies such as cantucci, chocolate cakes and doughnuts.
Even the vegetable garden is essential for business management: preserves year-round are obtained from its products.
Part of the grapes harvested in the two-hectare vineyard are supplied to a local winery, the other part is processed at home to obtain a wine of Rosso Piceno Superiore quality, intended for home consumption.
The variety of olive called leccino, obtained with the traditional cold method, provides very aromatic oil with a delicate flavor. On the other hand, the olive variety called Tenera Ascolana is preserved in brine to be used at a later stage in the preparation of a local savoury delicacy called Oliva Ascolana.
Assunta and Pompilio will be happy to lead the guests to visit the farm. By prior notice, they let you assist them to harvest grapes and olives and involve in mini-learning activities: preparation and care of the vegetable garden, of the vineyard and olive trees, preparation of jams and local recipes.
You can purchase locally available fruits and vegetables of the season.
